FARMER'S REVOLT
This article points to a phenomenon which is essential to the birth of ecosocialism -- control of the food cycle. The threatening recitation of statistics and appeal to the livelihoods of farmers, however, reads a little too much like a charity appeal. Forget about "sympathy" with these people -- what's needed is a general effort of all of us to put ourselves in the position of these farmers, and secede from capitalism through the art known as "permaculture." But, as Bill Mollison said in his Introduction to Permaculture: "Self-reliance in food is meaningless unless people have access to land, information, and financial resources." So that's what we all need.
